OffTheGram Community Guidelines
Stories behind the pictures
OffTheGram is for first-hand travel stories — the places you loved, the mistakes you made, what surprised you, and what you'd do differently.
1. Write from experience
Share trips you actually took. Your perspective matters more than creating the “definitive” guide.
2. Tell the real story
Perfect trips are not required. Share the wrong turns, disappointments and unexpected moments too.
3. Be useful, not clickbait
Write for another traveller, not an algorithm. Specific tips, costs, trade-offs and lessons are welcome. Generic SEO listicles are not.
4. Keep recommendations genuine
Only recommend places and experiences you actually tried. Sponsored or gifted experiences must be clearly disclosed.
5. AI can assist — it cannot invent
AI may help with grammar, translation, structure or clarity. It must not create fake experiences, reviews or journeys.
6. Use your own photos
Only upload images you have the right to use. Do not present AI-generated or borrowed images as photographs from your trip.
7. Respect people and places
Be honest without being disrespectful. Protect privacy and avoid sharing information that could harm people, communities or sensitive locations.
8. Keep the community human
Questions and disagreements are welcome. Harassment, spam, disguised advertising and promotional content are not.
The simplest rule
Tell the story you'd tell a friend who asked: “What was it really like?”
Stories are submitted for review. An authorizer must approve a journey before it is published.
